Pochacco

Pochacco is one of the many fictional characters produced by Japanese corporation Sanrio. He is drawn as a white dog with black floppy ears, and like Hello Kitty, no mouth. He's often in athletic attire and usually seen playing basketball or soccer with his many friends. more...

In the early years of Pochacco's career, he was referred to as "the yorimichi dog". Pochacco loves basketball and soccer, but around the mid-90's he took up skateboarding. And although Pochacco walks upright, he still has a hard time and trips often.. Usually resulting in head injuries, hence why Pochacco is sometimes seen with an accumulation of bandaids. This problem was apparently solved in most recent incarnations of Pochacco, as he's seen with a motorscooter nulling the need to walk.

Pochacco has been known to travel a lot which is how he met most of his friends. On a trip to the South Seas, he met Ponchi and on a trip to Konya Konya Mountain, he met Mon-Mon. (Konya means night in Japanese.) Pochacco lives in Fuwa Fuwa Town. (Fuwafuwa is Japanese for airy.) Sanrio changes its mind often in order to appeal to local audiences so sometimes Pochacco is said to be born in Brazil and sometimes he lives in New York City.
